Motherhood: Maintaining Your Beauty
By Glam India 19 January, 2012 @ 16:53
Becoming a mother is one of the most beautiful experiences of any woman’s life. Taking care of a baby is a fulltime job, with almost no respite. In this case, most women put their beauty regimes on a backburner. Mostly all new mothers complain of feeling unattractive after giving birth. It is important for even new moms to have some ‘me time’. Exercise is very important for post-pregnancy fitness. The fact is that one doesn’t have to go to the gym to get exercise. Even mothers who don’t have a minute to spare can fit in a quick, high-intensity yoga session before the baby wakes up. Or then put your baby into a stroller and head off on a long walk. Hair and skin care becomes difficult. Lack of sleep leaves the skin looking blotchy. Doctors don’t recommend using too many products on the hair or face during a pregnancy as it can harm the baby. So to get lustrous hair, simply oiling it and using natural shampoo is ideal. Get a low-maintenance haircut that won’t require too much styling. Get as much sleep as possible. Don’t panic about the baby weight and go on some diet. This is dangerous for the baby. Eat at least 5 portions of nutritious fruits and vegetables every day. This will even nourish the hair and skin. Tackle dry skin with some homemade face masks and moisturizers like avocado, bananas, strawberries, yogurt and honey. You can leave it on your face during a nap so that you don’t feel like you are wasting your precious few free moments. The key to having a beauty regime with motherhood is to be able to multi-task and having a rock-solid support system that will help you steal those few moments for yourself in the day.
